HOW TO CHECK THAT NOTHING LEAVES YOUR MACHINE
=============================================

You do not have to take our word for any of this. Three checks.

1. THE WIFI TEST
----------------

   a. Open a tool in your browser by double-clicking the .html file.
   b. Turn your wifi off, or unplug the network cable.
   c. Use it. Paste something in, generate a file, copy the result.

It keeps working, because there is nothing for it to connect to.

If a tool needed to send your file somewhere, this is the step where it
would stop working. None of these do.

2. LOOK FOR THE NETWORK CODE YOURSELF
-------------------------------------

Open any .html file in this download with a plain text editor — Notepad,
TextEdit, anything. The code is not scrambled or compressed. You can
   read it.

Search it for these three words:

       fetch(
       XMLHttpRequest
       sendBeacon

Those are the three ways a web page sends data anywhere. In our own code
you will find none of them.

You will find plenty of web addresses beginning https:// — they are links
in the text of the page, and the addresses of the licences. A link is
somewhere you can click to. It is not the page sending anything.

There is no vendor folder in this download and no library written by anybody
else. Each tool is one file, and what you read in it is the whole program.

What actually stops them is the line near the top of every page:

       Content-Security-Policy ... connect-src 'none'

That is an instruction to the browser itself: this page may not open a
network connection, to anywhere, for any reason. The browser enforces it.
The page cannot override it, and neither can a library inside it.

3. WATCH IT FOR YOURSELF
------------------------

If you want to see it rather than read about it:

   a. Open the tool.
   b. Press F12 to open your browser's developer tools.
   c. Choose the Network tab.
   d. Use the tool normally — paste something in and produce a real output.

You will see the page load from your own disk, and nothing else. No requests to the internet, at any point.

WHAT THIS DOES NOT MEAN
-----------------------

It means your file stays on your machine. It does not mean these tools
make you compliant with any standard or regulation. Compliance is a
property of your whole process, not of a downloaded file. The only claim
we make is the one above: your file is not transmitted.
